Question 7 : Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Question 4: Who would be the audience for your media product?

Who would be the audience for your media product?

As our genre is a teen drama we have decided that our target audience would be from the ages of 12-18,  also we feel that the gender is important and because it is a film about three girls and a scrapbook and memories etc, we think that the audience would mostly be female. I think the target audience we have set for this film is appropriate as the film would appeal for them as it girly and exciting. We also think that the age is appropriate as if we set it to younger ages, they wouldn't understand the concept of amnesia which is a our main theme, this is our audience research and this is what we predict our audience will be, I have made a questionnaire for people to complete so I can get a better knowledge of who our audience is.

These are the questions I asked:
  1. What gender are you?
  2. How old are you?
  3. What would you expect to see in a teen drama?
  4. What films would you associate with this genre?
  5. Are you a fan of teen dramas? Explain why
  6. What do films require at the beginning to keep you watching?
  7. What is your favourite genre?
  8. Which age certificate do you think our genre comes under? PG, 12A. 15 or 18?
  9. What do you think should be the main focus of a teen drama? Characters. setting, music, storyline, dialogue or editing?
  10. Would you watch a teen drama?
 Results of questionnaire:
I questioned 20 people and for questions 1 and 2 I created a chart showing the genders in relation to the age, so it shows 8 male answered my questionnaire and 12 female answered it.

Key features to our opening scene
In our opening scene, the key features to the story line are:
    • The dialogue - this is important because it sets the scene for the opening scene as to where the girl is coming from and the situation she has now been put into.
    • The scrapbook - this is the most important prop as it features all her memories into her past and brings to life one of the memories which roll into the others.
    • The train - as it shows that the world carries on with or without her even though she is struggling to keep going. It shows her life will continue to carry on with her diagnosis of amnesia.
